Description
These are files that you can import into your other drawing programs that will match Lightburn’s layer colors. These make designing for laser cutting a little bit easier because you can match your layers in your preferred drawing program to lightburn’s layers before you even import the file into lightburn. When you import your file into Lightburn with the correct layer color, Lightburn should automatically apply the corresponding cut/engrave layer to it.
Current palette/swatches available for:
- Adobe Illustrator
- CorelDRAW
- Inkscape
- Gimp
Instructions for installing each:
Installing Lightburn swatches in Adobe Illustrator:
1. Show swatches panel by making sure Window > Swatches is checked.
2. Click menu icon in the top right of swatches panel
3. Click “Open Swatch Library” > “Other Library”
4. Navigate to this folder and select “Lightburn.ase” file
Installing Lightburn color palette in CorelDraw:
1. Select “Window” > “Color Palettes” > “Open Palette…” from the menu.
2. In the dialog box that opens, find the saved XML file, select it, and click “Open”.
3. The SOC Swatch Library will display on the right side of your window.
Installing lightburn color palette for Inkscape:
1. Copy lightburn.gpl to Inkscape ‘palettes’ folder
Default Windows path: C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\inkscape\palettes
Default Mac path: Contents/Resources/share/inkscape/palettes/
If you can’t find a folder, all the file paths for user folders are listed in Edit > Preferences > Input/Output > System
2. Restart Inkscape
3. In inkscape, select palette by clicking menu icon in bottom right and select “Lightburn”. Palette will be loaded on the bottom.
Installing Lightburn Color Palettes in Gimp:
1. Right click anywhere in the Palettes window and click “Import Palette”.
2. Click “Palette File”
3. Browse and select this palette file, “lightburn.gpl”.
4. Set a name for your palette in the “Palette Name” text field.
4. Click “Import” and your palette will be available in GIMP.
