Cutting settings for 3mm basswood: 10mm/s, 40% power

Instructions: Cut out just the outline first on a workpiece that is unstained or painted to your desired background color. Then, cut out the face with the wording (I stained my plywood before cutting, but you can do whatever you want). I recommend applying  a double-sided adhesive such as this (https://a.co/d/9YgQCst) before cutting. Remove cut pieces from the laser, saving the letters and bottom plate that you will discard later. Adhere the dark faceplate to the backing piece by peeling off the adhesive covering, then dry-fit the letters that have center pieces (like “O” and “A”), peeling off the adhesive on the small center pieces of the letters. Remove the dry-fit letters from around the center pieces and you will have perfect placement. Use the same method for the bottom plate with the stenciled lettering – peel the adhesive backing off of each stenciled letter and place it in the unadhered letter plate, giving you perfect placement and removing the plate after the letters are stuck.
For a double-sided sign, repeat the process with the OTHER side included in the file. The sign is slightly asymmetrical so the back side is a mirrored shape of the front. Repeat all steps for lettering.
